Born to a rural family in Jiangsu Province, China in 1999, Xu Yue began playing the piano at the age of four. Currently, he is a year-one student at the Affiliated Secondary Professional Music School of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, trained by professor Tang Beihua and Professor Zhou Keng. Xu’s playing has been praised by renowned pianists Anton Kuerti, Peter Frankl, Oxana Yablonskaya and Alexei Lubimov. He has received awards in various international piano competitions, including first prize in the 22nd Young Musician International Competition “Città di Barletta”, Category C, first prize in the 7th Mozart International Piano Competition, Category C, and second prize in the 20th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth, Category C.
