Charles H Parsons
American Record Guide, January 2014

The singers are quite enthusiastic…Polverelli glimmers and shines, creating a nasty character all the while. A much put-upon Salustia is developed by Malfi. Her lighter, brighter voice is a good match for the innocence betrayed. © 2014 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Corrado Rovaris directs a crisply paced performance [of La Salustia] and the Accademia Barocca de I Virtuosi Italiani play gracefully…The attractive, gimmick-free production by Juliette Deschamps sets the performers in elegant 18th-century costumes against a stark pseudo-Roman backdrop and the singing is consistently at a high level. © 2013 Gramophone Read complete review on Gramophone

Lawrence Devoe, January 2013

We have to thank the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini for enabling this production of Pergolesi’s La Salustia…

Getting the picture to bring this ancient story to a modern audience requires a gifted video director. Fortunately, veteran baroque opera director Tiziano Mancini is more than up to the task. Camera movement makes the drama proceed quite well. We get great shots of the cast with good detail and color.

There is synergy between singers and orchestra that makes everything sound just right…for opera diehards with broad musical interests, a most rewarding watch. © 2013 Read complete review
