This is undoubtedly one of the key Dvořák recordings on DVD. As we have commented below, Bělohlávek’s natural affinity with the composer means that his reading of the Seventh Symphony is outstanding in every way and the Prague Orchestra play with natural idiomatic warmth and plenty of vitality. The complete set of the eight Op. 72 Slavonic Dances is similarly idiomatic and vivacious, and the Romance, with Ivan Zenaty a persuasive soloist, is a splendid bonus. The recording too is first class, as is the camerawork.
