Michael Mark
American Record Guide, March 2011

The final scene from Carmen as done by Baltsa and Shicoff is a real sizzler….their singing has lots of oomph. Tomowa-Sintow…is a pleasure to hear in Adriana and Forza chestnuts. Kurt Rydl has the most unusual selection: Fiddler on the Roof’s ‘If I Were a Rich Man’ sung in German—strangely entertaining. There’s no bad singing.
