…this is a very welcome addition to chamber music on SA-CD and would make a good introduction to Riisager. There is much to enjoy here, and the smaller works are real gems which would charm anybody. Impeccable and sympathetic musicianship combines with a first-rate sonic experience to make this an appetizing album. © 2014 SA-CD.net Read complete review
The violin pieces on this new Dacapo hybrid SACD are, I’m happy to say, superbly performed and recorded—an essential virtue for music that depends much on high spirits and instrumental showmanship.
…luscious sonics and the polished and sympathetic playing of Johannes Soe Hansen and Anne Soe Iwan. © 2013 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide
The performances in this Dacapo disc…are excellent. Johannes Søe Hansen is very well teamed with Christina Bjørkøe and they make a fine case for the music. The other string players make a commendable ensemble in the Concertino. With first class notes and recorded sound Riisager is in the finest of hands here. © 2013 MusicWeb International Read complete review
Rarely have I heard such an engaging and thoroughly rousing set of sonatas as these here, especially considering the varied and highly unique…formats of these pieces.
The sound on this recording is extremely warm and enveloping, a model of how chamber violin should be captured in surround. Johannes Soe Hanson[’s]…playing is superb, as are all the artists here. This is a surprising disc…well worth your time and money. © 2013 Audiophile Audition Read complete review
