Penguin Guide, January 2009

Ondrej Lenárd gives a pleasing bargain account of Glazunov’s delightful score, finding plenty of delicacy, while the entry of Glazunov’s most famous tune at the opening of the Autumn Bacchanale is very virile indeed. The sound is atmospheric, yet with plenty of fullness.

Gramophone, October 1990

"Ondrej Lenard gives a pleasing account of Glazunov's delightful score, finding plenty of delicacy for the vignettes of Winter. Frost, Ice and Snow, and an appropriate warmth for the Waltz of the cornflowers and poppies of Summer. The entry of Glazunov's most famous tune at the opening of the Autumn Bacchanale is very virile indeed. The sound is first class, transparently atmospheric yet with plenty of fullness and weight at climaxes. The ear has an impression of a fairly modest string section, but the sounds they make are pleasing and graceful."

Penguin Guide, January 1990

"The conductor contributes crisp, flowing, often exciting renditions of these Romantic ballets, and obtains orchestral playing of real spirit and interpretive alertness. The sound is also first rate."

CD Review, June 1989

"The Glazunov is very enjoyable indeed. The playing has an appealing delicacy and the recording brings an attractive transparency of texture, and a pleasing ambience."

Fanfare
