Penguin Guide, January 2009

Under Oliver Dohnányi’s lively direction the chorus sings with fervor. The collection ends resplendently with the triumphal scene from Aida, omitting the ballet but with the fanfare trumpets blazing out on either side most tellingly. With a playing time of 56 times this is an excellent bargain, with naturally balanced recording from the Bratislava Radio Concert Hall.

Gramophone, April 1991

"plenty of triumphal spirit"

Penguin Guide

"This is excellent value in every respect"
