Naxos offer a winning combination here, in performances wonderfully fresh and alive. Takako Nishizaki’s timbre, though not large, is admirably suited to Beethoven and she is in complete rapport with Jandó, who is in excellent form. The recording is most naturally balanced and the acoustic is spacious without clouding the focus.
"Takako Nishizaki forms a splendid partnership with Jenö Jandó, while the recording is quite perfectly balanced and very natural. ... delightfully fresh and spontaneous : the opeing of the Spring Sonata has a disarming simplicity and the infectious finale of the Kreutzer sparkles irresistibly. I enjoyed this music-making very much."
