Excellent playing from these Budapest musicians. The second of these two discs offers the three Double Concertos, and the two CDs between them include half the solo works. They are often surprisingly florid, requiring considerable bravura form the soloist. A good example is the Minuet finale of RV 447, which is a cross between a Rondo and a theme and variations. Vivaldi is never seems to flag, and many of the simple Grave, Largetto and Largo slow movements are very pleasing indeed.
