Penguin Guide, January 2009

The Boulez sonatas are well served by the gramophone—particularly No. 2, which Pollini has recorded for DG. Those with an interest in this repertoire will be well rewarded by Idil Biret on Naxos; she is more than equal to their technical demands and is given good sound.

American Record Guide, February 1996

It's hard to imagine a much more recommendable version than this one, though. Idil Biret is a formidable and adventurous virtuoso temperamentally drawn to very demanding music; all three sonatas on one disc, in state-of-the-art sound, at Naxos's low price, is an unbeatable bargain...

Gramophone

"Biret's musical persuasiveness, and the up-to-date sound, earn this Naxos issue a strong recommendation"
