Robert A. Moore
American Record Guide, May 2012

This volume of late songs is a pure delight. It gets off to a rousing start with a wonderfully cohesive performance of ‘Auf Der Bruck’…Muller-Brachmann’s sensitive yet sturdy voice is perfect for these songs, and he sings them magnificently well. Paul Althouse called this volume “the most satisfying so far” of the volumes he had heard and remarked that “the performance of ‘Auf der Bruck’…is, by itself, worth the purchase price.” © 2012 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide online

Paul Althouse
American Record Guide, August 2003

"I haven't heard all the volumes of the Naxos edition, but of those I've encountered, this one is the most satisfying so far. It is heartily recommended, and the performance of 'Auf der Bruck" (with the wonderful, driving pianism of Ulrich Eisenlohr) is, by itself, worth the purchase price. Naxos includes interesting notes (which go a good way toward justifying the organization of this series by poet!) with text and translations."

The Buffalo News, April 2003

"This is one of the most exciting, irresistible Schubert song discs around V and itÝs cheap too! Hanno Muller-Brachmann is a fine baritone in the Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau tradition. Pianist Ulrich Eisenlohr, masterminding the exciting ongoing Naxos Schubert series, has done a magnificent job with this one."
