Brian Buerkle
American Record Guide, March 2012

This program is beautifully shaped. Craig Morris is expertly accompanied by the Ukrainian born pianist Valentina Lisitsa…Between the two of them, this is certainly music making at its finest. © 2012 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Jerry Dubins
Fanfare, March 2012

Morris…does play the topmost notes in the piano’s right-hand part, but the surprise is he doesn’t play continuously. For many measures at a time, he simply stops and allows the piano to continue playing according to the written score; occasionally he adds a flourish of his own in the way of an aside or a comment on the music. In other words, this is no simple, straightforward transcription; it’s a transformation, turning the piece almost into what might be called a paraphrase.

The Schumann pieces…are so lovely and of such lyrical nature they’re bound to sound supple on just about any instrument as long as they’re as well played as they are here by Morris…this is an excellent introduction to his exceptional talent and fine playing… © 2012 Fanfare Read complete review on Fanfare
