Paul L Althouse
American Record Guide, July 2012

The Strauss works…require astonishingly good singers, absolutely secure in pitch, with excellent breath control and an ability to blend and scale dynamics anywhere in the vocal range. The Bavarian Radio Chorus is just such a group, warm and romantic in sound, but with pinpoint intonation and superb blend. Some details like the soft conclusion to Strauss’s ‘Der Abend’, are more beautifully done than I could have imagined…very beautifully done. © 2012 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

MusicWeb International, June 2012

Peter Dijkstra directs the Bavarian Radio Choir in highly committed and deeply expressive performances. These feel especially well suited to these late-Romantic scores. I particularly admire the choir’s ensemble and finely blended tone. The dynamic contrasts are splendidly conveyed releasing both power and intensity. Recorded in the superb acoustic of the Hercules Hall in the Residenz the pleasing sound is well balanced and clear.

These excellent performances are sheer delight. I love these glowing and highly successful transcriptions… © 2012 MusicWeb International Read complete review
