I wish TDK would adapt a more sensible identifying method for their DVDs! That said, let me hasten to add that I found this Balanchine-choreographed performance simply ideal! For starters, we have the full version of the music, chorus and all. How rare and refreshing that is! Balanchine's choreography is perfect, a shining example of classical ballet. So are the stage settings and costumes. The best part of course are the dancers; Roberto Bolle, a six-foot-plus hunk (reminds me of the athletic tenor Franco Corelli in his prime) dominates the scene, not to take anything away from other members of this excellent cast. Most highly recommended!
