Joanna Theiss
Sound Commentary, July 2013

The unabridged reading of this poem is very long…and would be difficult to follow in audiobook form were it not for the frequent, poetic repetition of phrases or identifiers …and for the majestic and enthusiastic reading of Keith Bosley, who both translates The Kalevala and reads it for us. He sounds dignified and stentorian, with a melodious English accent, but his excitement about the poem is palpable in his reading, and draws the listener in. © 2013 Sound Commentary Read complete review

Midwest Book Review, May 2013

A storytelling treasury embodying some 2000 years’ worth of Finnish tradition, culture, and heritage in a thoroughly accessible format, The Kalevala is highly recommended especially for public and college library audiobook collections. © 2013 Midwest Book Review
