…the recordings [are] natural and true. Bob Attiyeh not only adheres to the simplest of recording equipment, but also insists on the concert recording “ambiance” and it is the combination of these two essential elements that leads to the achievement of such a natural effect. © 2014 Expo Music

Expo Music, September 2014

…the famous Argentine cellist Antonio Lysy…plays without exaggeration, each track flows in to the other with a natural sound. The cello and piano music is exquisite, the piano sounds sweet, the melodic lines are often very sparse, but there is a lot of variety to the feeling; there is a sense of reality and the ensemble playing is very solid. © 2014 Expo Music

John Sunier
Audiophile Audition, September 2012

This interesting disc showcases the cello of Antonio Lysy and the five selections show the impact of both pre-Hispanic Amerindian traditions and Spanish Creole influences, as well a modern influences such as the Argentine tango. The excellent liner notes on the album are by the cellist, with some details on each of the works and their background.

The solo cello and string tone behind it are rich and natural-sounding. The disc surfaces are free of any noise. This album won a Latin GRAMMY award and deserves it. © 2012 Audiophile Audition Read complete review
