Betsi Morrison
Betsi Morrison is a singer and actress who has appeared extensively in starring roles for national and regional theatre companies. Before West Side Story, Betsi Morrison was seen at the Manhattan Theatre Club in Time & Again, the original musical based on Jack Finney’s novel. Her Broadway credits include playing opposite Richard Chamberlain in The Sound of Music and The Royal National Theatre’s revival of Carousel. Betsi also appeared in PBS’s My Favorite Broadway, a tribute to the women of Broadway at Carnegie Hall. Recently, Betsi has just finished touring the country with the critically-acclaimed revival of South Pacific, starring Robert Goulet. Her roles in some of the country’s top regional theatres include Rebecca Hershkowitz in Rags at Philadelphia’s Walnut Street Theatre, which won her a nomination for “Best Actress in a Musical” by the Philadelphia Inquirer, and this recording's "Tennie" Award-winning performance as Maria in West Side Story with the Tennessee Repertory Theatre.
