Ainadamar tells the story of the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, and his muse and lover Margarita Xirgu. It covers Lorca’s opposition to the Falange, his persecution for alleged homosexuality, and his murder in 1946 by Nationalist forces during the Spanish Civil War.
