All at the Naxos Music Group are delighted to learn that renowned violinist Christian Tetzlaff has received one of the 2026 OPUS KLASSIK Awards for Instrumentalist of the Year. This is in recognition of his recording on the Ondine label of two major, contrasting British violin concertos. Acclaimed among the critics, Gramophone dubbed the album “a revelatory recording of Elgar’s powerful work from Christian Tetzlaff, plus a brilliant interpretation of Thomas Adès’ major modern concerto for the violin.”

Christian has been one of the most sought-after violinists and exciting musicians on the classical music scene for many years, drawing on an unusually extensive repertoire and giving some 100 concerts annually. Artist in Residence of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin during the 2025/26 season, he previously served as Artist in Residence with the Berlin Philharmonic and participated in a concert series over several seasons with New York’s Metropolitan Opera Orchestra under James Levine. He appears regularly as a guest with such ensembles as the Vienna and New York Philharmonic Orchestras, the Concertgebouw Orchestra and London’s leading orchestras.

The OPUS KLASSIK 2026 awards will be presented during a gala weekend running from 9 to 11 October in Berlin.
