Erich Wolfgang Korngold ¡V A Portrait tells the story of a composer who, as a child prodigy in Habsburg Vienna, became the musical sensation of Europe¡¦s opera houses and concert halls in the 1920s. Later finding a new fame in Hollywood, writing romantic movie scores (Oscar winning score for Errol Flynn¡¦s Robin Hood)

Surviving family members and Brendan Carroll (biographer) remember him and provide innumerable insights into the details of Korngold¡¦s working life. The Korngold Society (Hamburg) has provided unlimited access to over 300 photographs, home movies and unheard, private tapes of the composer at work. Also includes ten minutes of extracts from Warner Brothers¡¦ productions.

The Concert - Hugh Wolff conducts the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra.
