‘Grigori Frid was a person of extraordinary character. He lived his life to the fullest and was active as composer, artistic painter, pedagogue, and author of many wonderful books about music and musicians. I feel a very strong connection to Grigori Frid. Not only do I share his love for music, but also common roots in St Petersburg, and a general enthusiasm to communicate with the public, through concerts and festivals featuring unusual or new repertoire. Like him, I have discovered painting as yet another art form allowing me to strengthen the bond with audiences.’
