Septura, the acclaimed British brass septet, has already recorded seven highly successful volumes of transcriptions for Naxos. They recently completed the recording session for their eighth at St Jude’s Church in London’s Hampstead Garden Suburb. It’s a re-imagining for brass septet of the orchestral suite from Tchaikovsky’s beloved Christmas ballet Nutcracker. The magical musical journey of Clara and the Nutcracker is enhanced on this November release with narration by the English actor and stage director Derek Jacobi; the text is based on an adaptation by Alexandre Dumas of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.
