Jun Märkl and Lyon National Orchestra tour Japan; Naxos releases CD to mark occasion

Lyon National Orchestra and Music Director Jun Märkl will go on tour in Japan: the ten-day concert tour starts in Osaka on 3 November and ends on 12 November in Aichi. There will be two concerts in Tokyo. Full details including the tour schedule can be found here.
Jun Märkl, of German-Japanese lineage, took up his position as Music Director of Lyon National Orchestra at the start of the 2005/6 season. In addition, since the beginning of the 2007/08 season he has been Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony. Märkl is engaged by Naxos for a range of recording projects. To mark the occasion of the Japanese concert tour, Naxos today released an album of works by Toshio Hosokawa and Claude Debussy featuring Märkl and Lyon National Orchestra (*8.570775).
