Naxos welcomes Dynamic
December 1, 2014
Naxos is pleased to announce that Dynamic has been added to its portfolio of labels. Founded in 1978 as an independent Italian record company based in Genoa, Dynamic subsequently assembled an impressive catalogue of some 700 CDs and DVDs, many of them devoted to operas and works for violin from the 18th and 19th centuries. A significant portion of the catalogue comprises works that fall outside the traditional repertoire, with many of them featured in world première recordings.
Dynamic’s successful partnerships with Italian festivals and opera houses have recently produced recordings of lesser-known titles by Verdi, Donizetti, Pacini, Massenet, Meyerbeer and Tchaikovsky, featuring outstanding productions staged at the famous La Fenice theatre in Venice, the Valle d’Itria Festival in Martina Franca and the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari.
Alberto Dellepiane, who will continue as head of Dynamic, expressed delight at the new business arrangement with Naxos: “I’m really excited to become part of the world’s biggest network of classical labels and am proud to be able to contribute our extensive catalogue,” he said. “New releases in the pipeline comprise several world première recordings on DVD, including Vivaldi’s Il Farnace, Bizet’s Arlesiana, a great opera by Italian composer Ennio Porrino, I Shardana, composed in 1959, plus a new recording of Donizetti’s Anna Bolena conducted by Fabio Biondi and based on an original 1840 version for La Scala.”
Klaus Heymann, chairman of Naxos, said he was similarly delighted with the acquisition of Dynamic’s significant catalogue. “Like Naxos, Dynamic has frequently focused on non-traditional repertoire and engaged in première recordings, making this new addition to our resources particularly fitting.”
