J.C. Bach's Keyboard Concerti recorded in London March 23, 2007
From March 6 to 8, The Music Collection, directed by keyboardist Susan Alexander-Max, recorded four keyboard concerti by J.C. Bach, often referred to as “the London Bach”. The sessions took place at Weston Parish church, Hertfordshire, UK, with Phil Rowlands as recording engineer.
Susan Alexander-Max already has two highly acclaimed CDs in the Naxos catalogue, performing works by Hummel (8.557694) and Clementi (8.555808). In this recording she is joined by members of the chamber ensemble which she founded in 1996, all leading musicians from London's orchestras performing on authentic instruments.
The four Concerti recorded are in Bb Major, Op. 13, No. 4; in G Major, Op. 7, No. 6; in D Major, Op. 13, No. 2; in A Major.
