Schubert four-hand piano music recorded in Britain March 28, 2007
UK duo partners John Humphreys and Alan Schiller have recorded several four-hand piano works by Schubert, including the vast Sonata in C, “Grand Duo”, D812, as part of the ongoing Naxos Schubert piano duet series. The recording sessions, engineered by Steve Portnoi, took place between March 13th and 15th 2007 at Hawksyard Priory, Staffordshire, UK. Chris Wines is the producer. The magnificent CF111S Concert Grand was used on this recording, courtesy of Yamaha.
The duo’s last Naxos album, Busoni Music for 2 Pianos (8.557443), was released in late 2005 and critically well-received. |
