ALESSANDRO DE MARCHI

Alessandro De Marchi is director of the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music. He is a specialist in Neapolitan opera, with a repertoire that goes far beyond. He has conducted operas by Monteverdi and Purcell, Handel, Gluck and Mozart, to Paisiello, Bellini and Spontini, at venues including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Staatsoper Hamburg, the Staatsoper Berlin Unter den Linden, the Semperoper Dresden, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Staatsoper Stuttgart, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Opéra National de Lyon, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, Maggio Musicale in Florence, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Regio in Turin, Den Norske Opera in Oslo, the National Theatre in Prague and at the Theater an der Wien.

At the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music De Marchi has conducted Mozart’s Il re pastore and La clemenza di Tito, Pasquini’s Sant’Agnese, Haydn’s L’isola disabitata, Pergolesi’s L’Olimpiade and La Serva Padrona, Bach’s Coffee Cantata, Telemann’s Flavius Bertaridus, König der Longobarden, Provenzale’s La Stellidaura vendicante, Domenico Scarlatti’s La Dirindina, Handel’s Almira, Porpora’s Il Germanico, Cimarosa’s Il matrimonio segreto and Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria.
