ALFREDO GARCÍA

Born in Madrid, baritone Alfredo García studied at the Escuela Superior de Madrid, the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst, Wien and has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Dresdner Philharmonie, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, and Spain’s most prominent orchestras, including the Orquesta Nacional de España, the Orquesta Sinfónica y Coro RTVE, the Sinfónicas de Madrid, Tenerife, and Asturias, and the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM), appearing in concerts and operas under conductors including Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Michel Corboz, Semyon Bychkov, Juanjo Mena, Marzio Conti, and Jonas Alber

Garcia’s contemporary music recordings include Diez Autores con Diez Obras, De la dulce mi enemiga and Canciones Liricas, the complete songs of Francisço García Muñoz. He has garnered recognitions such as the Premio Amigos de la Ópera de Madrid and the Austrian government’s González Guerrero Award to the Best Baritone Voice, and has sung in several of the closing concerts of the Princess of Asturias Awards, presided over by the King and Queen of Spain.
