AMI MAAYANI (b 1936 )
The Israeli composer and conductor, Ami Mayani, was born in 1936 and had his musical training at the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance, followed by a degree in architecture. He has played an important part in the musical life of Israel, heading the Rubin Academy and as professor of music at Tel Aviv University, and conducting various ensembles, including the Israel Youth Orchestra.
