The soprano Ana Durlovski was born in the Macedonian town of Štip, and studied at the Music Academy of the University of St Cyril and St Methodius in Skopje. She made her debut at the National Opera there in the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor, subsequently appearing at the national opera houses of Belgrade, Sarajevo, Tirana and Zagreb. In 2006, she made her debut at the Vienna State Opera as Queen of the Night and was awarded the Croatian Marijana Radev culture prize.

From 2006 to 2011 she was a member of the Mainz State Theatre, appearing as Lucia, Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Musetta (La Bohème) and Manon in Massenet’s opera. Guest engagements included appearances at the Vienna and Berlin State Operas. Other important roles include Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Adele (Die Fledermaus) and Gilda (Rigoletto). She joined Stuttgart Opera in 2011 and in 2012 won the Faust German Theatre Prize for her Amina (La sonnambula). In 2014–15 she made her Metropolitan Opera debut in New York as Queen of the Night and appeared in the same role at the Dresden Semperoper and at the Teatro Real in Madrid. Other roles have included Elvira (I puritani), Ginevra (Ariodante) and Norina (Don Pasquale).
