ANICIO ZORZI GIUSTINIANI

Tenor Anicio Zorzi Giustiniani was born in Florence, Italy. A violinist for many years, his vocal studies began at the Conservatorio di Musica ‘Luigi Cherubini’ in Florence under the guidance of Fernando Cordeiro Opa and Silvia Bossa. He has been recognised in numerous competitions, including the 39th Toti Dal Monte International Competition for Opera Singers in Treviso for his performance in the leading male role in Haydn’s La vera costanza, subsequently debuting the opera in Madrid, Treviso, Reggio Emilia and Liege under the baton of Jesus Lopez-Cobos.

He has performed leading roles in Così fan tutte and Don Giovanni, Il barbiere di Siviglia at Teatro La Fenice, and Mercadante’s I due Figaro with Riccardo Muti at the Teatro Real de Madrid, and has also appeared at the Salzburg Festival, the Ravenna Festival and the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.

He has worked with eminent conductors such as Ivor Bolton, Pietro Rizzo and Fabrizio Maria Carminati. He made his debut at Rossini in Wildbad in Tebaldo ed Isolina.
