Anna Palimina studied piano and chamber music in Moldavia before undertaking vocal training at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden with Christiane Hossfeld. Her first engagement was at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Munich, before she joined the Cologne Opera, where her roles included Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, Gilda in Rigoletto, Sierva Maria in Peter Eötvös’ Love and Other Demons, and Eva in Stockhausen’s Sonntag aus Licht. Other debuts include performances at the Staatsoper Stuttgart, the National Theatre, Prague, the Hessian State Theatre of Wiesbaden, the Semperoper, Dresden, the Teatro Real, Madrid and the Opéra Bastille, Paris.
In concert she has performed classical and contemporary repertoire, undertaking engagements with ensembles including the Collegium Novum Zürich, the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne and the Basel Sinfonietta, performing works by Wolfgang Rihm, Thomas Adès, Vivier and Grisey with conductors such as Peter Rundel, Markus Stenz, Jonathan Stockhammer, Philippe Jordan, and Steven Sloane, in Basel, Zurich, Amsterdam, Cologne and Frankfurt, and at the Salzburger Festspiele.
