Ben Alden was an ABRSM scholar at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, where he completed his postgraduate education under Peter Alexander Wilson. He currently combines his freelance singing with a Lay Clerkship at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, and studies with tenor Ryland Davies.

As an accomplished ensemble singer, he works regularly with Britain’s leading vocal ensembles. He appears frequently on recordings and in television and radio broadcasts, including the BBC Proms. Engagements have taken him abroad throughout Europe and the United States and he has appeared on stage in the Salle Pleyel, Paris, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Sadler’s Wells. With repertoire spanning almost a millennium, he enjoys a varied career on the concert platform. Recent solo performances include tours of Monteverdi’s 1610 Vespers with Sir John Eliot Gardiner and the Monteverdi Choir; and with the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam and La Chaise-Dieu, St Malo and Lessay festivals in France.
