Born in 1981 in Nordenham, Lower Saxony, Bianca Koch, while still at high school, appeared in Oldenburg as Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Her schooling completed, she made guest appearances at the Bremen Theatre before embarking on vocal study at the Bremen Musikhochschule and moving to Augsburg, followed, from 2005, by the Munich Hochschule für Musik und Theater and a series of master-classes. At the Hochschule in 2006 she sang Cleopatra in Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto and made a guest appearance as Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Schloss Laubach. She sang Galsuinde in Fredegunda in the first Munich performance and in Karlsruhe, and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte in Munich, Bayreuth and Ingolstadt. She is an award-winner in the Schlossoper Haldenstein/Chur Competition and holds scholarships from the German Bühnenverein, the Bremen Richard Wagner Society, MusicaMallorca and the Italian Consulate in Munich.
