Lee Bing was born in Kwelin, Kwangsi, and studied singing under the voice teachers Hu Jan and Chao Mei Pa after moving to Hong Kong. She undertook further study at the Royal College of Music in London, where she graduated with distinction. She studied voice with Madam Ruth Packer. She also went on to study Lieder under the late Gerhard Huesch in Munich.
In Hong Kong Lee Bing enjoyed a successful career as a performer and teacher. She taught voice in the Music Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong since its founding in 1965. Her London Wigmore hall recital with Geoffrey Parsons received very favourable notice in The Times and her recitals of Chinese and Western art songs have been broadcast both in Hong Kong and in Taiwan.
