Specialising in music of the early twentieth century, the Circolo Artistico Ensemble pays particular attention to the unpublished work of Italian composers active in the inter-war years, in collaboration with leading musicians, including Aldo Ciccolini at the Mercadante Theatre in Naples, Bruno Canino at La Fenice Theatre in Venice, and Roberto De Simone at Teatro Studio Auditorium della musica in Rome. The wide success of the Ensemble has led to the project TaranTODAY, with the purpose of commissioning new works deriving inspiration from Southern Italy. The Circolo Artistico Ensemble has appeared with Alain Meunier, Rocco Filippini, Antony Pay, Sandro Cappelletto, Carlo Bruno, Francesco Manara, and Giuseppe Andaloro, and with the actors Renato Carpentieri and Rosaria De Cicco, and with Movimento Danza. Flexible in membership, the Ensemble includes Neapolitan musicians who have been victorious in leading European competitions at the Naples Teatro San Carlo, the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique de Paris – Alfred Cortot, Frankfurt Musikhochschule, and the Siena Accademia Chigiana. The group was responsible for the foundation of the Centro Italiano di Musica da Camera at Naples, the activities of which include the administration of the Biblioteca Mario Pilati, with its valuable unpublished material, from which the Ensemble draws some of its repertoire.
