Dan Zhu is a leading violinist of his generation, performing with conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Zubin Mehta, Krzysztof Penderecki and Muhai Tang, symphony orchestras in Boston, Washington D.C., Munich, Paris and Florence, and the festivals of Salzburg, Tanglewood, Verbier, Marlboro, Schleswig-Holstein, Prades-Casals, Ravinia, and Spoleto.

Praised by the press as “an artist of affecting humility, truly brilliant, compelling, and polished”, he has collaborated with pianists such as Michel Dalberto, Philippe Entremont, Richard Goode, Lang Lang, KunWoo Paik, and Jean-Yves Thibaudet. He has collaborated with composers including George Benjamin, György Kurtág, Gian Carlo Menotti, Wolfgang Rihm, Bright Sheng, and Ye Xiaogang.

Zhu’s involvement with the Antarctica Forum led him to be the first violinist to perform on the continent of Antarctica in 2013.
