DAVIDE CABASSI

Born in Milan, the pianist Davide Cabassi studied with Edda Ponti and at the Italian International Piano Foundation in Cadenabbia, where he participated in master-classes with Leon Fleisher, Rosalyn Tureck and William Grant Naboré among others. He made his début at the age of thirteen with the RAI Symphony Orchestra. He went on to appear with the Munich Philharmonic, the New Westphalian Philharmonic, the Russian Chamber Philharmonic, the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana, Lugano, the Paris Orchestre Romantique, and various other American and Italian orchestras. Performances in Italy were followed by appearances in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and in France, Portugal, Poland, Finland, Russia, the United States, China and Japan, with guest appearances at the Salzburg Mozarteum and La Scala in Milan. He took a leading part in the documentary film In the Heart of Music on the Twelfth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, of which he was a finalist in 2005. His extensive discography includes Schumann’s Piano Concerto and Carnaval, Brahms’s Piano Concertos, Mozart Piano Concertos and Beethoven Sonatas.
