Dmitry Ablogin is one of the most aspiring pianists of the younger generation dedicated to period instruments. His in-depth classical piano training at Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow makes up the foundation of his work. He graduated cum laude and was awarded several first prizes for example at the Nicolai Rubinstein Competition in Paris and at the “Germany Piano Open” competition in Hanover. He continued his studies in the fortepiano class taught by Jesper B. Christensen at the Frankfurt Music University.
At the 1st International Chopin Competition on period instruments in Warsaw, his talent for romantic piano playing caused a great sensation and accounted for his reaching the finale. Dmitry performed in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Poland, France and recently in the USA at the Miami International Piano Festival. Soon he will play at the renowned festival “Chopin and his Europe” in Warsaw. Beginning 2019 he teaches piano class at Landesmusikgymnasium Rheinland-Pfalz (state music school of Rhineland Palatinate) in Montabaur, Germany.
