DUNCAN ROCK

The baritone, Duncan Rock, studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and subsequently at the National Opera Studio. He is the winner of the 2012 Chilcott Award and recipient of the 2010 John Christie Award.

On the opera stage, highlights include Papageno and Schaunard (The Metropolitan Opera), Marcello and Donald (Covent Garden), Don Giovanni, Tarquinius, Demetrius and Novice’s Friend (Glyndebourne), Don Giovanni and Tarquinius (Boston Lyric Opera), Tarquinius (Deutsche Oper), Billy Bigelow (Houston Grand Opera and the Théâtre du Châtelet), Donald and Mountjoy (Teatro Real), Silvio (Gran Teatro del Liceu), Belcore and Marcello (Opera North), Don Giovanni (Welsh National Opera) and Marcello and Papageno (English National Opera).

Highlights on the concert platform include The Last Night of the Proms with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Sakari Oramo, the London Symphony Orchestra under Sir Simon Rattle, the Münchner Rundfunkorchester under Paul Daniel and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under Nicholas McGegan.
