Eikanger-Bjørsvik is a brass band, consisting of amateur musicians and is one of the most famous brass bands in Europe, continuously improving and always seeking new musical worlds and reaching arenas where no bands have been before. The span is enormous. They performed in the contemporary ballet Lux Aeterna at the Bergen International Festival. They have given world premières of a great deal of contemporary music for brass band. At the same time they are renowned for their live entertainment shows, especially adapted to the band’s many strengths. They were the first non-British band to claim the European brass band throne, and they remain the most successful contesting band in Norway. A strong series of recordings, radio and television broadcasts have made Eikanger-Bjørsvik a household name at home. Eikanger-Bjørsvik and Bjarte Engeset met for the first time in 2004, and this new relationship was an immediate success. After this first meeting Engeset and Eikanger-Bjørsvik have performed concerts, toured Norway, visited the Royal Northern College of Music Festival in Manchester and participated in the European championship.
