EMANUELE CORDARO

Emanuele Cordaro was born in Catania in 1987, and studied singing with Mariella Devia, Marcello Giordani and Bonaldo Giaiotti. In 2012 he competed in The Marcello Giordani Foundation International Vocal Competition and was subsequently awarded the role of Pistola in Verdi’s Falstaff. He also reached the finals of both the 2017 Operalia and the 2014 Associazione Lirica Concertistica Italiana (As.Li.Co.) competition.

He made his professional operatic debut as Masetto in Don Giovanni at the Teatro Italia, Rome, and has since undertaken a wide variety of roles including Jackie ‘Tiger’ Brown in Weill’s Threepenny Opera, High Priest in Nabucco, Sparafucile in Rigoletto and Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro. In 2017 Cordaro performed the role of Geronte in Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, and toured Japan with the Teatro Massimo of Palermo in a production of Tosca.

Recent engagements include the roles of Melcthal in Guillaume Tell at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo and Tom in Un ballo in maschera with the Opéra National de Lorraine à Nancy.
