American pianist Evan Hirsch performs internationally as both recitalist and chamber player. Committed to the promotion of the music of our time, he has given premières of and recorded works by American composers George Rochberg, Peter Child, Thomas Oboe Lee, Daniel Pinkham, and Martin Pearlman, among others. His recordings can be found on the New Albion, Arsis and Albany labels. He travels widely as part of the Hirsch-Pinkas Piano Duo, with his wife, Sally Pinkas. Highlights of their previous seasons included tours of Nigeria, Russia, Bulgaria and China. Music Festivals credits include Kfar Blum (Israel), Pontlevoy (France) and Rocca di Mezzo (Italy). A dedicated teacher, he teaches piano and chamber music at Brandeis University. He has been on the Adult Education faculty at the New England Conservatory, and taught at Dartmouth College as a Visiting Professor in 2006 and 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from SUNY Purchase and a Master of Music from New England Conservatory.
