Giuseppe Scaglione started his musical studies in childhood and graduated in cello when he was eighteen, with full marks and honours, from the Luisa D’Annunzio Conservatory in Pescara. At the inauguration of the new headquarters of the conservatory he appeared as soloist with the conservatory orchestra in Lalo’s Cello Concerto. He won first prize at the Tenth Vincenzo Scaramuzza International Competition in chamber music, organized by the Società Beethoven ACAM, Crotone. In 2010 he was appointed to the Santa Cecilia National Academy Orchestra in Rome, and in 2007 and 2011 to the Arena di Verona Orchestra, participating in the 85th Opera Festival. He won the Rome Symphony Orchestra international competition, where he is now principal cello. He has also performed on tour in Germany, at the Großer Saal of the Berlin Philharmonic, at the Großer Musikvereinssaal in Vienna, in the United States at Carnegie Hall in New York, and in Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, Trenton, Springfield and Morristown, as well as in Athens, Kraków, Beijing, Shanghai, Graz, Salzburg, Carthage, and El Djem. He has collaborated with distinguished colleagues and conductors.
