HUGO REINHOLD (1854 - 1935)
Hugo Reinhold was an Austrian composer and pianist, whose prolific collection of works has been all but forgotten today. Born in Vienna, he was a chorister at the court chapel, before he was admitted to the Conservatorium der Musikfreunde where he studied under Anton Bruckner, Otto Dessoff and Julius Epstein. When he left at the age of 20, he became a piano teacher at the Akademie der Tonkunst, Vienna. During his lifetime his works were performed by the Vienna Philharmonic and the Hellmesberger Quartet.
