Jonathan Kaell studied piano, double bass and conducting at the Music Schools of Rotterdam, The Hague, Saarbrücken and Maastricht. Since 2004 he has appeared regularly as a guest conductor in various theatres, including the Saarland State Theatre, the Lower Saxony State Theatre in Oldenburg and the Théâtre National du Luxembourg, in festivals and in chamber and symphony orchestra concerts in Luxembourg, Germany and elewhere. He specialises in new music. Since 2009 he has been music director of Opera mobile and since 2004 has directed the Ensemble für aktuelle Musik. He has served as guest conductor for Estro Armonico since 2011 and since February 2012 has been music director of the Homburg Symphony Orchestra. Since 2004 he has taught at the Saar Musikhochschule and in 2007 founded the new music ensemble Grenzpunkt.
