Born in Linz in 1990, Lydia Peherstorfer studied the violin at the Anton Bruckner Private University with Matheos Kariolou and from 2008 at the Vienna University for Music and Performing Arts with Josef Hell. With a distinction in her second diploma in June 2013, she was a prizewinner of the Prima la Musica Competition in the violin and chamber music classes. She has played with the Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra and Linz Bruckner Orchestra, and in 2012 became a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. She has played in venues including the Musikverein, Vienna, the Royal Albert Hall, London, the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, and the Semper Opera, Dresden.
