MARIA LAMBROS Maria Lambros has performed throughout the world as a member of the Mendelssohn, Ridge and Meliora String Quartets in venues such as the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall, London, and Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. With these quartets, she has received a GRAMMY® Award nomination, the Naumburg Chamber Music Award and a Diapason d’Or. She has performed with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and as a guest with ensembles such as the Juilliard String Quartet, the Guarneri Quartet, the Orion String Quartet and the Peabody Trio.
A frequent artist at festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival, the Tanglewood Music & Arts Festival and the Mostly Mozart Festival, New York, she has recorded for RCA Red Seal, Telarc and Bridge Records.
Currently the violist of the Cooperstown Quartet and La Fenice, she is on the chamber music faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music and the Yellow Barn music school, and is the founding director of Our Joyful Noise Baltimore.
