Born in Montpellier, Marie-Ange Todorovitch studied first piano and then singing at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and at the Ecole de l'Opéra de Paris. Winner of several prizes, she was the interpreter of the main rôles Eurydice, Diane, Cherubino and Djamileh, subsequently appearing at Glyndebourne as Dorabella and Cherubino, and as Pauline in The Queen of Spades. Her repertoire ranges from Rossini, Mozart and R. Strauss to French opera, and she has appeared in major opera houses and festivals throughout France and Europe in a series of major rôles, including that of Marguerite in La Damnation de Faust in Geneva opposite José Van Dam, a part she has undertaken elsewhere. Her world premières include the title rôle of Clara in the opera of that name by Hans Cefors at the Opéra Comique in Paris and Verlaine Paul by Georges Boeuf at the Opéra de Nancy. Marie-Ange Todorovitch enjoys an equally distinguished career in the concert hall, and her recordings include collaboration in works by Gounod, Massenet and Chausson for EMI.
