Nolan Pearson, noted by The New York Times as a “high-energy pianist” who brings “beauty and cohesiveness” to his performances, is a widely active soloist and chamber musician based in Chicago. Especially engaged with new music, he has commissioned many solo works and won major grants including the Edes Prize for Emerging Artists and the Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship. Pearson studied principally with Ursula Oppens and Robert Shannon, and at Tanglewood, where he was the original pianist of The New Fromm Players. He has been an instructor at Northwestern University since 2009 and is currently pursuing a medical degree.
